When to fly into Faro
March–May is the quiet-window arrival for golfers and hikers — airport queues are calmest and the lagoon-side resorts have shoulder pricing. Mid-June to mid-September is the high throughput window; expect 25–40 min immigration queues at peak evening banks. November–February is the cheapest flying season when long-haul charter traffic thins out — best for southern Algarve weekenders. (Note: ferries to Farol and Armona leave from the Faro city / Olhão waterfronts, not from the airport — add a short onward transfer if you plan to island-hop on arrival day.)
